Visit the spirit of Cape Ann- Ryan & Wood Distilleries..this is the first Distillery on the North Shore since the repeal of prohibition. It is a family owned craft distillery started in 2006 by North Shore natives.
Visitors to the distillery are able to see what goes in to the making of small batch distilled spirits as tours are offered two times each day Monday through Saturday. Tours are given at 10:00am and at 1:00pm and they are FREE. Plan to spend about an hour at the distillery learning about mashing, fermenting, distilling, barrel aging and bottling. There is also a good deal of local history that makes its way into the tour as distilling had quite a profound influence on the Boston area in days gone by.
Ryan & Wood was recently awarded “Best Distillery Tour” by Yankee Magazine in their best of New England edition. (June 2013).
