Visit Gloucester on August 6, 2016 for the Blues Festival at Stage Fort Park!  World Class Blues will reverberate through Gloucester’s Stage Fort Park with some of the nation’s finest performers playing from the Gloucester Blues Stage. Constantly searching for new sounds, rhythms, and textures Jesse Cook is coming to the Shalin Liu on March 11 at 8pm. Cook has taken nouveau flamenco to places it has never been. Cook also is known for his genre-bending compositions. Come to the Shalin Liu Performance center in Rockport to see one of the most celebrated instrumentalist on the plant perform. Chamber winter birding boat trip

New England bird watchers please join us for the Cape Ann Winter Birding Boat trip from 8am-1pm. Weather permitting we are hosting the winter birding boat trip aboard the privateer IV with 7 seas whale watch. We will hopefully be seeing spring migrant birds, and we hope to see some whales too. After the excursion we will go to the Gloucester House restaurant for lunch (lunch is not included in the price of the trip). Space is limited and the price of the trip is $75 per person. The Metropolitan Opera will be streaming a showing of Manon Lescaut to the Shalin Liu Performing Center in Rockport. Kristine Opolais and Jonas Kaufmann star as the ill-fated lovers at the center of Manon Lescaut, Puccini’s passionate adaption of the classic novel about a free spirited country girl who becomes the toast of Paris.
